APPLICATION:

Perchloroethylene is used as a solvent. Most organic compounds dissolve in perchloroethylene. Perchloroethylene is the most commonly used solvent for dry cleaning. It is also used for degreasing metal parts in the automotive and metallurgical industries. It is still used as a raw material for the synthesis of fluorinated hydrocarbons and fluorinated polymers.
