Azithromycin

Azithromycin is a semi-synthetic antibiotic of the macrolide class. It appears as a white crystalline powder, odorless, slightly hygroscopic, and poorly soluble in water. Azithromycin is primarily used to treat bacterial respiratory, dermatological, and genitourinary infections by inhibiting the protein synthesis of susceptible bacteria. It also has a slightly bitter taste, which makes it less pleasant to consume in oral suspension form.
